Jeffrey will be 6 months old next week, thats right, 6 months! I can't even believe it. I see newborn babies and it doesn't even seem like Jeffrey was ever that tiny.
He is loving his baby food, he grabs the spoon a lot and wants to feed himself.
I keep trying to get him to practice sitting up but when I try to sit him down he just wants to stay standing lol.
We also went to the lake Labor Day weekend, I was a little nervous about it but he did great.

5 going on 6

Jeffrey has hit 5 months and I can't believe it! He has had his photo shoot with grandma, started eating rice cereal and peas, and has gotten really fussy and fidgety at night. He is a very observant baby, he will watch you like a hawk, and has this very serious look of curiosity on his face. I know every mom says this but my baby IS the cutest baby! I mean just look at these pictures!

Swimming

Jeffrey doesn't really do much in the swimming pool, which I could be grateful in a way because that means he doesn't fuss the whole time. He just hangs out, no emotion, once in a while I get a few kicks out of him. I want to take him more and more so he is used to it. His cousin Zachary on the other had LOVES the pool, especially when he can touch. We will definitely have to have more pool play dates. 

Rice Cereal

He is SO not a big fan. Hopefully he gets more used to it, we only get a few spoon fulls in then I have to stop, the face he makes is priceless. I have yet to capture it on camera.
Another thing he is not a fan of lately is napping. He will lye down for 30 minutes at the most. Right now is he asleep on my lap, I am not going to try and move him.
His 4 month shots are tomorrow at 3, there is a slight chance I might have to brave it alone. I won't like doing it, but I'll be able to handle it.

This week is the life of Jeffrey.

Well don't you know the life of a baby boy is so hard. Jeffrey seems to think so today.
I think he can feel that he is getting his 4 month shots next week.
He also has his 4 month checkup with the doctor Thursday, I'm excited to see how much he's grown!

Jeffrey update

My goal is to update my blog at least once a week. Well, here I go!

I need to update what is going on in our lives, but I wouldn't take up much room. And Jeffrey is a whole part of our life now so I figure he is more interesting.

He started giggling! At first Grandma Susan was the only one that could get him to start to do it, but I finally got him full on laughing. It was the best thing ever.
He is doing better on tummy time, he will stay there for a while now before he starts to get mad. I'm hoping he will like being on his tummy so he will start rolling over!
We went to the pool with cousin Zachary, he didn't get in because I think he's still a little too little but it was fun anyways.
Im excited for his 4 month check up with the doctor so I can see how well he is growing, and maybe start him on rice cereal! That will be fun.
Oh, and he looks just like his daddy! I'm waiting too see what part of me is in there.

I was looking at pictures of my little Jeffrey when he was born, and almost got teary eyed. It wasn't even that long ago! I'm a sap.

Growing Boy

New tricks. New sounds. New adventures everyday with this one.

1 month!

Jeffrey turned 1 month old on the 21st! I can't even believe it has been this long already, I am amazed.

He is starting to "talk" and is awake a lot more during the day.

We still haven't really established any kind of pattern with feeding or sleeping. He eats ever two hours, 3 if he eats more. But he doesn't seem to want to eat the same amount of time each feeding. It between 15 to 20 minutes. Sometimes less, and a 20 minute feeding is very rare. I don't know if this is all normal, but he is growing so I guess he is getting as much as he needs?

We have been working on tummy time, here he just wanted to suck on his arms, but if I hold him either over my shoulder, or he is doing tummy time on my chest, he can hold his head pretty far up. He was doing it for quite a while last night, he is definitely a strong boy.

UPDATE

Yesterday at work I had to be a Courtesy Clerk, which for a pregnant woman really isn't the best idea, but hey, they get paid the big bucks to write the schedule right? Well I was on my feet from 9am to about 3. Walking back and forth from the front of the store, to the back, to the front, well you get the picture. About 12:00 hits and man am I starting to feel it, the baby definitely wants me to sit down! I sneak an extra break here and there, but by the time I clocked out, I was ready to sit down, and NEVER get back up again. Which is basically what I've been doing ALL day today since its my day off. I really hope my next week schedule at work is a lot nicer. Tomorrow is an 8 hour day, wish me luck. I think I might be done soon.

Our poor little Maggie, what is she going to do once this baby boy gets here, I think she is going to have a hard time becoming number 2 around here.

The other day we were both watching a dog show, and she really wanted to play with them lol

Countdown

I think my countdown timer has sped up! 75 days??? Where has the time gone, I am no where near ready for our little boy to make his appearance. I can't wait to meet him, but I'm still not ready. I guess I better get cracking!

Things are going pretty well lately, I am starting to get over being sick, and I don't think affected the little man at all! He still moves around as often as he can, especially when I am tired and trying to sleep. My eating appetite has gone down, probably because of being sick, but don't let that slow him down, I am going to get my exercise chasing this little one around. I can tell.

We have decided on a good option for a name for him, I just can't push myself to finalize it. There is WAY too much pressure in naming a child, more that I ever thought. We both really like the name, I just keep thinking, what if that isn't what his name is supposed to be?? I also want to keep his name a secret (Jon doesn't understand why.) I'm pretty sure this is going to be his name, but like I said, I just don't think I'll be able to officially decide until I see him, even though we only have one picked out so far. Maybe I'll just leave it up to Jon, let him think about it for a while.
